NC Home Advantage program
The North Carolina Housing Finance Agency is dedicated to helping North Carolinians obtain affordable access to home ownership. If you’re a first-time or move-up buyer, this program is designed to simplify the homebuying process and make your dream of homeownership a reality.
We are here to help you determine if this program is right for you — and walk with you through this process. Some features and requirements of the NC Home Advantage Program include:
- Must be new or existing property located in NC
- Primary residence only
- Single-family home; townhouse; condo; duplex; new manufactured home2
- $140,00 maximum qualifying income (minimum 640 credit score)
- 30-year term
- Up to 97% financing
- Up to 3% down-payment assistance for qualified borrower
- $15,000 down-payment assistance option for eligible military veterans and first-time buyers
- Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI) required
1Buyer eligibility includes, but is not limited to, the following: Must occupy the home as your principal residence within 60 days of closing. Must not own another home. Annual income doesn’t exceed $140,000. Credit score is 640 or higher. Must be applying for an FHA, USDA, VA, or conventional loan through a participating lender and meet the sales price limits of the loan type. Must be a legal resident of the United States.
2660 credit score required.
